Feeling a little deflated after initial amusement of cartoon, but now pondering all things to do with relationships.

The secret that women's magazines and daytime television don't want you to to know is "Nobody is good at relationships". This is one area where practice doesn't make perfect, and there are no experts. Although mistakes can be learned from :)
